Redwork designs are a delightful way to quickly embellish almost anything. I have taken great care to digitize these designs as jump free as possible. Many designs have no jumps at all! Vintage in nature, redwork was originally done by hand by "genteel" woman, using Turkey Red thread due to it's colorfast nature. By 1910 a colorfast blue thread also became popular. These outline designs would be found on the tea towels, table scarves, clothing, pillows, bed linens and layettes of the aristocrat. From it's origin in the 1880's through today, the redwork style continues to adorn home fashions, kitchen towels & aprons, clothing, nursery & baby items. It's light touch makes it a perfect choice for that family christening heirloom. Today it is also a very popular and sought after retro accent!
