Can you really applique on poodle fleece?
Yes it's easy!
Before stitching place a layer of WSS (water soluble stabilizer) or melt away topper (if you are in a hurry or doing an item that you do not want to or can't wash) over the stitch area of the fabric. This will hold down the fleece and provide a smooth surface for the applique trimming , no loops to catch your scissors in. Typically there's never even a need to melt / iron away the excess afterwards, I find it just pulls clean away!
Wherever you choose to stitch this, it's sure to please your
Christmas Story fan!
The lighted "glowing" effect on the lamp shade is achieved by placing a layer of shiny organza over the base fabric. And for added shine this NLE design has a golden finial at the lamps top, done in metallic thread. To complete the look there's even a done in the hoop fringed trim!
